Leave of Absence

A leave of absence is recommended when a student must take a temporary break in enrollment for any Fall, Spring, or Summer (if compulsory) term. Students wishing to request a leave of absence should consult with an academic advisor. A student on a leave of absence registers as a continuing student for the semester of return. A student may remain on Leave for no more than one full academic year. A break in enrollment that extends beyond one academic year is considered a withdrawal and will require a new application to return to HPU.

Before submitting this form, it is recommended that all international students meet with the Office of International Students and Scholars to discuss your required departure date from the US and the termination of your VISA, if applicable. Upon receipt of this form, the Registrar's Office will drop or withdraw you from all courses that you are registered for this term. Your Leave of Absence from HPU will be effective the date that you submit this form.
The Registrar's Office will leave you enrolled in your classes for this current term. Your Leave of Absence from HPU will be effective the end of this current term.
